Please find below the directions to the Fiddlerslake Apartment:
When crossing the Canso Causway (the dam that connects Cape Breton Island to the Mainland Nova Scotia) you are heading towards Sydney on Route 4. Stay on that road until you reach Sydney. Some GPS' like to send you via 'Morley Road' to Marion Bridge. It's a gravel road. Ignore that and stay on Hwy 4 towards Sydney!In Sydney: Turn right onto Hwy 125 towards Glace Bay, New Waterford, Louisbourg. Take the next exit (Exit 7) off Hwy 125 towards Marion Bridge/Gabarus, which is Highway 327, the Fleur de Lis Trail. Stay on Highway 327!
After crossing the bridge in Marion Bridge follow the Hwy 327 towards Gabarus / Forchu... After 12km (approx. 12 minutes) after Marion Bridge turn right onto Joanne Langford Drive, than follow the signs. After 30 seconds you have reached your destination.
If you have a GPS please type in '21 Joanne Langford Drive' and it will find us. For not so up-to-date systems search for French Road, NS (which is our village).

We are Joe & Bridget. Our first visit to Cape Breton Island took place in 2005 and we felt in love with this very unique place immediately.
Cape Breton's charm is captivating. The people are friendly and communicative. The daily rhythm is slower, life has its own speed, it's all very laid-back and natural. We just love it. At the end of our first vacation, the property was bought and we have been without any doubt: this is the place to be for the rest of our lives.
Back in Germany we planned the future. Over all it took us five years to get ready to move including the immigration procedure (which was the easiest part).
On February 24th 2011 the dream came true. We landed close to midnight together with our dog Lea at Halifax Stanfield Airport.
Building the house already started in October 2010. In August 2011 we moved in.
Now we had each other, a house and a car. Great. What's next ?
We founded the computer business 'MacHOLL IT- Services'. So we earned the first dollars.
The house included a very nice, fully equipped apartment, with a private entrance and deck. We built it, in the first place, for friends and relatives from Germany for their vacation. Almost everyone who saw the apartment was so excited about how nice it was. They told us we should rent it out as a B&B or holiday apartment. We thought about it, went through all the paperwork and did it...
